Module 1: Theoretical introduction
The first part of the training focuses on legal regulations and the theoretical fundamentals of the IMDS system. Participants will learn about:
- Legal requirements – an overview of the most important regulations that directly impact compliance processes in the automotive industry, such as REACH, ELV, POPs, and BPR.
- GADSL (Global Automotive Declarable Substance List) – the core in IMDS. Participants will learn how IMDS uses GADSL and how to use the list for product analysis.
- International Material Data System – an introduction to IMDS as the main tool for material data management in the automotive industry.
This module provides a solid knowledge base that enables further effective use of the IMDS system.
Module 2: Key IMDS Features
The second part of the training covers the key features of the IMDS system:
- Interface – discussion of the interface and key functionalities.
- Data validation and submission – verification of material data received from suppliers and submission of material data to clients according to their official requirements.
- IMDS Report – generating reports as a key element of conveying information about the material composition of products.
Who is the training for?
This training is aimed at individuals who need a quick introduction to the IMDS system and primarily use the system for reference purposes, focusing on organizing IMDS data and communication within the supply chain.

- Short and Intensive – this is one of the most general courses in our offer, quickly presenting the legal framework and the most important IMDS features.
- Independence – there is no need to have access to the training or production IMDS system; everything will be conducted under our training license.
Trainers
The training is conducted by experienced specialists who work daily with the IMDS system, supporting automotive companies in product analysis and material data management. Our trainers are also actively involved in collaboration with DXC and the IMDS Steering Committee, testing the IMDS system, proposing system changes and advising companies in the industry. Participants are informed of upcoming IMDS system changes, letting them stay prepared and adjust their processes to meet new requirements and features.
