Position: IMDS Engineer

Job Description:
As an IMDS Engineer at Substance Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting automotive companies in managing material data compliance with global standards such as IMDS, REACH, and SCIP. You will work within a dynamic team to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance across the supply chain, helping clients meet international requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage material data submissions and updates within the International Material Data System (IMDS), according to the Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Ensure compliance with global automotive regulations (e.g., REACH, ELV, and SCIP).
- Collaborate with suppliers and customers to obtain and validate material data.
- Conduct data analysis using IMDS tools, including Where Used Analysis.
- Provide guidance on material reporting obligations in line with international standards.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and assess their impact on IMDS submissions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to material data entries.
- Support training and consulting activities related to IMDS processes for clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience working with IMDS or similar material data systems.
- Strong knowledge of automotive regulations such as REACH, ELV, and SCIP.
- Familiarity with GADSL, recyclates (Recommendation 025), and advanced IMDS functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions) and familiarity with VBA is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with global suppliers and customers.
- Experience with IMDS A2 Optimizer software is preferred.
- Fluent English is required.
